2014 Awards and Installation Banquet

August 23, 2017

Largo Lions Club is excited to announce “Tinney”, a Southeastern Guide Dog, we sponsored and were able to name graduated on Friday, August 18, 2017. Tinney was named for Lion Carolyn Tinney, who has over 25 years as a member of the Largo Lions Club. During her time as a Lion, Carolyn has held many officer positions, including club president. She continues to be active in sight programs, such as; Vision Care, and collecting and sorting of eye glasses.

G. Rick Grisenthwaite in Perry, Georgia is thrilled to have Tinney as a new member of his family. Rick spent 20 days at Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto, arriving alone, but leaving as a team with Tinney, perhaps Rick states it best, “Losing your sight is a confidence destroyer, and Tinney is my confidence builder.” The Largo Lions Club sends our best to Rick and Tinney as they begin a wonderful journey of discovering Perry, Georgia. We thank our supporters for giving Rick Grisenthwaite this great opportunity, allowing us to serve our community.Type your paragraph here.
